City Group chairman Fazlur Rahman died at a hospital in Dhaka on early Monday.

Rahman, also chairman of Somoy TV, breathed his last at the United Hospital in the capital at about 4:00am. He had been suffering from respiratory disease for a long time.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Dhupkhola field in Gendaria after Asr prayers on Monday.

According to family sources, he worked at his office till Sunday evening. Later in the night, he fell sick and was taken to the hospital immediately.

Fazlur Rahman is survived by his wife, a son, and three daughters.

In 1972, City Group began its operations with the production of mustard oil. He later expanded his business through investment in other fields.
